Take the Get Cyber Safe challenge

July 3, 2020

If the COVID-19 pandemic has taught us anything, it’s that contactless delivery is way better than the alternative. Well, that and the fact that cyber criminals love to take advantage of stressful situations — and that’s why it’s more important than ever to stay cyber safe.

Look, we get it. Cyber safety can sometimes feel like a lot of work. But if you take it one step at a time, you’ll see that it’s actually pretty effortless. And that’s what the Get Cyber Safe challenge is all about: breaking cyber safety into simple, byte-size steps (see what we did there?) you can follow to become safer online.

Let’s be real — if you can commit to a 30-day yoga challenge (or commit to watching them on your friends’ Instagram stories, for that matter), this is practically nothing. Here’s how it will go:

This week, you’ll get all caught up on why we keep emphasizing the importance of staying cyber safe during COVID-19. To be specific, that means learning about phishing scams and at-home cyber security.

Week 2: Adopt a strong passphrase

Creating strong passphrases and passwords is one of the most important — and luckily, one of the easiest — things you can do to stay safe online. The next step is making sure you keep it private. This week will show you how to do all that.

Week 3: Install software updates

How long have you been putting off that OS update your phone keeps prompting you for? Yeah, that’s what we thought. But good news: this week is your chance to feel pressured enough to actually do it.

Week 4: Enable multi-factor authentication

Here’s where it all comes together — multi-factor authentication combines your complex new passphrase with other authentication factors to make your accounts and devices even more secure. It’s the perfect cherry on the cyber safety sundae.

Take the challenge

The Get Cyber Safe Challenge is the perfect opportunity to get caught up on your cyber security checklist. Plus, you get to prove to your techy friends, your kids and, most importantly, yourself, that you’ve got what it takes to protect yourself and your devices.
